Secretary General Theo Hooning of the Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss), had the honour of presenting the very first copy of ‘The Superyacht Book’ in the United States to Mayor Jack Seiler of Fort Lauderdale. The mayor received ‘The Superyacht Book’ during the media breakfast kicking off the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The book, initiated by The Superyacht Life together with teNeues, showcases recently delivered flagships from the 21 SYBAss member shipyards from around the world. The Superyacht Life is an initiative of the Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss). This book is truly unique in the sense that it does not only cater to those already active in yachting, but also other audiences interested in design and luxury.
The vessels in the book wonderfully portray a vast array of differences in design, layout, technical specifications and entertainment options. You will find everything from fast and masculine motor yachts to sailing yachts that have won regattas with interior styles ranging from art deco, to nautical or contemporary. Two of the yachts featured in the book are on show in The Superyacht Life Area during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: Galactica Super Nova and Savannah.
The essays you find throughout the book explore how the latest design trends can transform the owner´s and guests´ experience on a yacht. With the changing and varying demands of owners, yacht designers and shipyards are constantly being pushed to challenge the written and unwritten rules of yacht design and naval architecture. While on the one hand, new builds are inspired by the latest trends, at the same time new trends are born, coming to life following the owner´s vision and demand of specific features. With stunning photos of breath-taking interiors and exteriors of superyachts, this book is a treat for anyone interested in luxury or design. The Superyacht Book would look great on any coffee table, whether that table is on a superyacht or not.
